  • Popcorn!

    Popcorn!

Tips and tricks for a successful popcorn fundraiser.

Popcorn is the main fundraiser for Scouting Colorado, and is designed to help Units fund their program year. Pack 545 does not require Cub Scouts to raise popcorn funds, however, those Scouts who do participate earn 25% of their total sales placed into a “Cub Account.” These funds can be used to help offset next year’s dues, buy uniforms, or pay for registration fees associated with summer camps and Scouting activities – utilization of your funds are at your/Scout’s discretion.

    Incentives

To further enhance the fundraising season, both Scouting Colorado Council and Pack 545 have incentives to help Scouts work towards goals and get celebrated along the way.IncentivesPopcorn, pizza, pies, and prizes! This year’s incentives include:

Complete 1 store front sale: the scout earns a rocket kit to be launched during end of year celebration (Pack incentive)
Sell $250: Pizza party at Ark Ninja (Pack incentive)
Sell $300: Minecraft light (Council incentive)
Sell $500: Pie a Cub Scout Leader (Pack incentive)
Sell $600: Scouting camping shovel (Council incentive)
Sell $750: Glass Ornament Class (Pack incentive)
    Sell $1,000: Partner Organization Tickets*
*more details to be released later (Council incentive)
Sell $1,200: Sleepover at Colorado Adventure Point (Pack incentive)

    How do I start?

    How can my Scout prepare?

Encourage your Scout to create a fundraising goal to work towards. Whether that goal is a specific dollar amount, an experience like summer camp, or one of the many incentives, having a goal to share with potential donors can also get them excited to support.

Trail’s End created short videos to prepare Scouts for popcorn season. The Pack 545 website has the training videos located at the bottom of the popcorn page for your convenience.

If you need further details about Popcorn, please email Popcorn Kernel Nevin Gallagher at popcorn@pack545.com.

  • Summertime Fun

    Summertime Fun

The National Summertime Pack Award has been reimagined into an elective Adventure named Summertime Fun.  This new Adventure may be one of the simplest Adventures, it has one requirement and that is:  anytime during May through August participate in a total of three Cub Scout activities.

The new Summertime Fun elective Adventure is available for Tiger through Arrow of Light.  Lions do not begin Cub Scouting until they are attending Kindergarten in the fall so there are no summertime activities for Lions.

Only attend 3 activities this summer and my Scout earns it? Yep! It’s that easy. Attend any activity listed in this newsletter and you have already completed an activity. Or if you feel like your Scout did a family “scouting” activity (like camping, fishing, hiking, etc) we will count that too!

We ask families to keep track of your activities. In August, you’ll see an item in the newsletter to “log” your activities that your Scout completed. We will record this for your Scout and they will be given their Summertime Fun Award at the September or October Pack Meeting.

Get out there and have fun!!!!!

  • Religious Emblems Virtual Info Session

    Religious Emblems Virtual Info Session

    September 28 // 5 – 5:30 p.m. // Google Meet

Our Pack is excited to share an optional program that supports your family’s faith journey: the Scouting America religious emblems program.
The program is completely optional and open to members of all beliefs, including those with no religious affiliation. While the emblems are sponsored by specific faiths, the core goal is to encourage scouts to think about what is important to them and to live a life guided by strong values.

If you’re interested in learning more, we are conducting a virtual informational session. Sign-up to express interest and to receive a reminder about the virtual session.

  • Sewing Fundraiser

    Sewing Fundraiser

Did you know that PACK 545 has a sewing fundraiser going on? This is a great time of year to get your rank patches sewn on and all other patches sewn onto your red vest – just in time for Summer Camp or the beginning of the Scouting Year!

Each patch sewn on is $1 and all proceeds go back to Pack 545. Drop off and pick of items is easy and convenient (any time!) and contactless!

    Email Mary for more details.

  • Fishing Derby

    Sunday, October 19, 2025

    // Lake Lehow (Littleton) // $5

    // Session 1: 8:30am-10:30am // Session 2: 10:30am-12:30pm //

Registration is limited to 60 participants per time slot.  Please bring a water bottle, sunscreen, sturdy shoes, and any other fishing gear you would like to use. It could be cold and snowy. Dress appropriately for the weather.

Since this is a limited event (and free), signups will be run differently from how we normally do it:

    1. If you’re planning on attending, let everyone know in this Pack Google spreadsheet. This will allow us to properly track who earns their Adventure and so everyone in the Pack can see who’s attending.

    2. Go and sign your family up directly on the Council event site. This step is required in order for your spot to be reserved.

    3. Attend and have fun! (take pictures!)

All Scouts in all programs are welcome to join in the fun, from Cub Scouts to Scouts BSA, Venturers and Sea Scouts.

There will be gear to borrow on site but you can bring your own too.  Fishing licenses are NOT required; Scouts will participate in catch and release fishing.  Night crawlers will be provided.
