Introduction to Cub Scouts

The mission of Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts of America) is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

How Scouting Works

Cub Scouts welcomes boys and girls in grades K-5.

Designed for elementary aged kids, Cub Scouting fosters leadership, character development, personal fitness, and citizenship through fun and engaging activities.

What is a Pack?

Our unit, Pack 545, is a large and active group of nearly 100 Scouts from schools across Broomfield, Thornton, and Westminster. Scouts are organized into one or more Dens per grade level.

What is a Den?

Throughout each school year Scouts will work with their Den to complete age-appropriate Adventures. By completing those Adventures, they will earn a new rank at the end of that year. Scouts will remain with the same Den throughout their Cub Scout career.

After earning the rank of Arrow of Light, your Scout is ready to transition to a Scouts BSA troop where they will continue to enjoy outdoor adventures and leadership growth as they work toward the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Scouting.

Scouting is a family activity.

Parents are required to attend meetings and activities with their child, and parents keep the pack running by serving as Den leaders and in various volunteer roles. Find out how to get involved.
