Activity Highlights

Cub Scout Pack 545’s year is full of fun, adventure, and tradition—all made possible by our parent volunteers. Some activities are long-standing favorites, while others are new ideas from our Scout families. We add and adjust events each year to keep things exciting and engaging for everyone.

Ice Cream Social

Celebrate the end of summer and the start of a new Scouting year with ice cream in the park! Scouts and families can reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and enjoy a sweet start to the season. Don’t miss it!

Pancake Breakfast

Scouts of all ages help take orders and serve up hot cocoa, pancakes, and sausage to friends and family. Proceeds support the Broomfield Rotary Club, our scouting partner. When he’s not too busy with toy-making, Santa Clause has been known to stop by for a visit!

Pinewood Derby

A classic Scouting tradition! Pack 545 supplies the car kits, and Scouts build and customize their own car (with parent help if needed), then race them in timed heats. Parents and siblings can join in their own category, and prizes are awarded for speed and creativity. Winners may even compete in the Valley District Pinewood Derby!

Hiking

Our Hiking Club is all about getting Scouts outdoors to explore nature, practice good outdoor skills, and discover a love for hiking! Scouts earn one mile credit for every mile hiked with the club. After completing 10 miles, a Scout receives their very own hiking stick. The club runs throughout the Scouting year, with hikes open to all ranks, families, and siblings.

Sporting Events

Pack 545 regularly receives tickets to local sporting events (often free or at a discounted price), and the Denver Area Council offers special Scout Night deals for local teams like the Nuggets, Avalanche, Rockies, Rapids, and more. Packs can reserve tickets together, making it extra fun to cheer on our teams together!

Camping

Camping is a big part of Scouting! Families can join the Council Fall Family Camp in September for a weekend of crafts, games, and outdoor fun. Scouts also look forward to Adventure Day Camp, packed with activities like archery, fishing, obstacle courses, BB shooting, crafts, and more.

Sleepover Event

Scouts have a chance to earn belt loops and pins while enjoying an unforgettable sleepover adventure. In previous years, we’ve explored the Denver Zoo, Downtown Aquarium, and Cave of the Winds. The summer sleepover is one of many incentives for Popcorn-selling Scouts, additional spots are made available to the full Pack.
